How to use PineConnector with TradingView and MT5

PineConnector connects a TradingView alert to a broker order without asking for your MT5 password. TradingView sends JSON to your unique webhook, and the TV2MT5 Bridge EA running on your terminal polls the queue and places the order locally.

What you need before starting

  • A PineConnector account with a license key and webhook URL
  • MetaTrader 5 with the TV2MT5Bridge.ex5 Expert Advisor
  • An always-on computer or Windows VPS when alerts must run unattended
  • A TradingView plan that supports webhook URLs

Step 1: install and connect the EA

  1. Download TV2MT5Bridge.ex5 from the PineConnector dashboard or the setup docs.
  2. Copy it to MQL5/Experts and refresh the Navigator in MT5.
  3. Allow automated trading and add your PineConnector app URL under Tools → Options → Expert Advisors → WebRequest.
  4. Attach the EA to a chart and enter the license key in InpLicenseKey.

Step 2: create the TradingView alert

Create an alert on your indicator or strategy, enable Webhook URL, and paste the unique URL from your dashboard. Put JSON in the Message field. For strategy alerts, use {{strategy.order.action}} so the same template can carry buy and sell actions.

{
  "symbol": "{{ticker}}",
  "action": "{{strategy.order.action}}",
  "qty": 0.1,
  "sl": 50,
  "tp": 100
}

Step 3: confirm mapping and test

TradingView may send EURUSD while your broker lists EURUSD.m or EURUSD_i. Open Symbol mapping, confirm the suggested broker symbol, and test one small alert on a demo account. Check the trade log from received to mapped, queued, sent, and executed before increasing size.

A webhook can be received even when the EA is offline. In that case the order is not placed at the broker. Keep MT5 logged in, AutoTrading enabled, and the terminal awake when live alerts matter.

For the full fields and exchange setup, read the TradingView webhook guide and setup docs. Start with a demo or the free trial before using live risk.
