Kill switch, daily caps, and drawdown limits for automated MT5
1 Sept 2026 · Updated 13 Oct 2026 · 8 min read

Automation without a brake is how funded accounts die before lunch. PineConnector splits plan quota (how many alerts your subscription will accept today) from per-terminal risk (what this MT5 login is allowed to do).
Two different daily limits
- Plan signals / day — trial 50, Starter 500, Pro/Multi unlimited. Counted on parsed webhooks, not on junk payloads.
- Max daily trades — optional extra cap on one account. Off by default. When on, that login stops taking new trades after N successful-path signals.
They stack. A Pro user can still cap a funded account at 20 trades while leaving a personal book uncapped.
Kill switch
When the kill switch is on, new signals for that account fail immediately and the EA returns an empty poll. Queued work is not silently executed. Turn it off under MT5 accounts when you want live flow again.
Drawdown halt
Enable max drawdown % to pause new trades if today's PNL vs balance breaches the threshold. The EA keeps polling; it just will not dequeue while the halt is active. This is a pause, not a flatten — close positions yourself or send a close alert.
Close on reverse and fixed lot
Close-on-reverse matches flip-flopping Pine strategies. Fixed lot overrides the alert qty when that toggle is on. Risk-% sizes from equity and the alert SL; the EA uses broker tick value so gold and FX both size correctly.
These switches are per MT5 login. Delta Exchange and CoinDCX have their own kill switch, daily cap, and drawdown pause on the exchange card. Turning off MT5 does not flatten a crypto position. See Delta and CoinDCX. Set the MT5 brakes after the EA connects, then read how alerts become orders. Start a trial on a demo login before you raise size.
